Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep your floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency of hoovering manually. Pick a robot vacuum with good navigation, can clean stairs and corners, and that has large bins that will need to be emptying every so often.
There are models that can mop and charge themselves This is an advantage important for families with children or pets. A majority of the top performers in our tests have great obstacle avoidance.
1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling the i3 EVO are the same robots that differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the robot's dustbin once it gets full.
Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris on hard floors and carpets, and they're excellent at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ doesn't feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we tested. It can get stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between surfaces, such as carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clean the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it might encounter. You should also keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid becoming clogged. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is depleted it goes back to its docking station and automatically empties its dirt into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning where it left off. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes 3 hours to fully charge.

2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or via the app.
The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin, which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room and vacuum an area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and easy with the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to give voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households however, it can also fit in well next to a coffee table or on a bookshelf where you can move it around like a magic device.
The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide fade-free power for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens and expels clean air back into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to suck up large particles and fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adapted to the task. It quickly converts from floor vac to handheld vacuum and back again.
This model also has an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours, and gives users easy access to two attachments as well as an Wand clip. This is a big improvement over earlier Dysons models, that require a long charge and are a pain to store.
The biggest issue with the V10 is its sluggish run time. Its claims on the market that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are misleading as CR's tests show. This is an average, not an exceptional, time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of an average-sized house but not long enough to get every single spot (though a second run-through usually does the trick). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums, the 694 is a basic model that's a good choice for people who don't want to invest too much on a robot. It could pick up the majority of types of debris and sizes in our tests and would often go over the same area several times for an efficient clean. Its flat front allows it to reach corners and edges of walls.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top picks, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or low furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects, as it has fewer components that require regular cleaning It also comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and can charge faster.
The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most purposes, as it has a better battery life, can change its suction power mode manually and has physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It is also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and performs better on floors with low pile and bare.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

The app provides a range of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings, and more. The app is simple to learn and use as are other Samsung devices.
In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and cleaned up 86% of dog hair (on carpet). It was not as successful in avoiding taller objects like cords or socks. robot vacuum cleaner on sale was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models that we tested, and this could be a deterrent for some buyers.
The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible through the app. You can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you to check in on your children or pets when you're away. The filter and the dustbin can be washed for a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps to keep the robot's bin clear and optimizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Contrary to other robotic vacuums that are specifically designed for hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path as well as a large dustbin that holds 2X more debris than competitors to keep the cleaning area clean for the longest time. They also have two side sweepers to clean along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which detects the presence of dirt or debris on the surface and then automatically adjusts the power level. The vacuum also comes with an app that allows you to view a virtual map, control functions, and create schedules. You can also monitor the status of the vacuum and connect it to its dock for charging at the click of a button. The app allows you to modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum so that you can determine where it is focused or if it has gotten stuck.
The app allows you to steer the robot manually in the event of need. My living room rug for example has a dark-colored border that can trip up some other robots. The HRV 425BL however, continued to move across the border without registering the cliff. The ability to program the weekly cleaning schedule is a great time-saving convenience.
