Narwal Freo X Ultra

A top-rated and highly-functional Gen 4 robot vacuum and mop that has a new approach to design The Freo X Ultra is a very well-built machine. The $1400 list price could be a bit steep, but it is often available to make it more affordable. The unit is beautiful and the base station takes up only a tiny space in a corner of a room.

The design of this robot addresses some problems we've encountered with other robotic mop and vacuum units, such as brushes that get tangled up in hair, and the vacuum brush not being able to reach the bare flooring beneath furniture. The sweeping performance is also impressive on carpets and bare flooring. The vacuum/mop features an excellent level of debris collection and the mop is able to quickly soak up flooring.

The mops have a sophisticated system that cleans along the edges of walls and around furniture. The robot is able to easily get around obstacles like food bowls, toys and backpacks. But it can become stuck or get caught up in smaller and flatter objects such as shoelaces, USB cables and pen.

We utilized this robot to vacuum and mop a variety of pile carpet tiles, FLOR rugs and hardwood floors in a large, open floor plan. It vacuumed and mops the 90m2 space in 170 minutes with FREO Mind enabled. This is a bit more than average for Gen 4 robots.

Several features distinguish this robot from others in its class. Freo X Ultra is equipped with numerous enhancements in software, sensors and hardware to keep it at the top of its class. It promises 3.5 hours of autonomy for areas up to 260m2.

You can alter a variety of functions with the Freo app, including the frequency at which the robot comes back to the base station as well as its mopping frequency and power (silent or smart) and its mopping humidity. The app is able to detect soiled spots and create an effective cleaning route. It can also distribute detergent, or raise the carpet pads.

Other impressive features include a simple-to-read display on the robot's underside and an access door for docks that is easy to open.  robot vacuum cleaner on sale  and mop is ideal for apartment and home owners who wish to cut down on chores and keep their home clean.

Miele Scout RX3

Miele has a track record of quality and innovation in the field of robotic vacuuming. This new robot aims to take that to the next level, with smart features and top-notch cleaning performance.

The RX3 features a dual suction system and intelligent navigation that includes 3D mapping and a camera that sends live images to your smartphone for easy control. The RX3's powerful four-stage system for cleaning ensures excellent dust removal on hard and carpet floors, while intuitive side brushes with a swing-out feature and two suction channels keep corners clean. The 8.5 cm height allows it to fit under furniture that is low, and front cameras and infrared sensors help it navigate obstacles and thresholds easily.

The Scout RX3 impressed us in our test of how well it was able to clean baking powder from corners and baseboards. Its 2,500Pa of suction was a little weaker than other robots but it was able to move quickly and was very quiet. It didn't mop however, and its removable cleaning pads were a bit difficult to attach and couldn't cope with dirt that had dried on.

Its app isn't equipped with advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It is compatible with Alexa however its voice commands don't seem to be very clear or responsive. It's also a bit sporadic when it comes back to the charging station after a run. Other robots can follow a wall or trace an earlier route, but the RX3 bumbles around until it finally gives up.

Another issue we had was with its smart features, specifically the mapping function as well as digital keep-out zones. It was good at keeping our furniture legs and shoes away but it was easily hung up on socks, cables, and carpets. That's why we chose not to include it in our Best Buy list. Still, with a decent price and a dazzling performance The Scout RX3 is worth considering if you're looking for an alternative to the traditional uprights.
